Didn't stay here so cannot comment on rooms but had some lovely food. I had chicken korma with peshwari naan and pilau rice. It was delicious. Highly recommend it.
We came in for a meal during our stay in Hartington and were not disappointed. We had Poppadoms to start, Lamb Tikka Massala, Chicken Bhuna, Pilau rice and a Peshwari Naan. All were cooked beautifully. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The staff are friendly and gave great service aswell. A new restaurant that deserves support. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

Recent new owners since earlier this year. Really good food and everyone I've spoken to really likes it. Slightly expensive, but you pay for what you get. Good , friendly staff. Would recommend. Can't comment on the hotel, but the new owners are trying to make it better (changing lots).
Stayed in a family room off the car park. We didn't expect much after reading reviews however the room was fine for our needs. Large comfy bed, room clean and warm. Bit tired in places and lacking in attention to detail however didn't impact our stay. We ate in the restaurant and the curries were really nice. Lovely village.
THIS REVIEW APPLIES TO THE RESTAURANT ONLY. A new Indian restaurant has restaurant has recently opened at Cottons which is in the centre of village. Beautiful food which can be modified to suit your tastes, good bar, new restaurant and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Does a take out service. Great value for money.
Called in for drinks during a walk only to find it under new ownership, and now serving authentic Indian cuisine. We ordered starters and mains. All the food was fantastic and we'll definitely visit more often.
Great place to stay, would come here again. After seeing quite a few negative reviews, we were nervous about staying here, but we only have positive comments to make - lovely cosy little room, great shower, nice view over the village. Downstairs in the bar area looks really nice. We stayed on a Friday and it was lovely and quiet, no bands. I had no problem booking through wowcher (although I had to phone to sort it after having no reply via email). All staff friendly and accommodating. Had a lovely breakfast before we left and the owner was happy to let us leave the car for a few hours so that we could do a walk to Milldale (also asked if we needed directions).
